Bad Boys Spin-off LA’s Finest Gets Trailer

Early last year it was announced that NBC was looking to pick up the pilot for the Bad Boys spin-off starring Gabrielle Union in the lead. This came on the heels of an official pick-up of Bad Boys 3; however, NBC eventually turned down the pilot & it looked as though the show had officially bit the dust before it aired.

Well, as one door closes another one opens. It was revealed today that Sony Pictures Television & Spectrum Network have officially picked up the series & released a trailer with the announcement. The show is titled LA’s Finest & will see Gabrielle Union & Jessica Alba teaming up to take down crime in LA. The show will release its first three episodes on May 13th. exclusively on Spectrum on Demand. Check out the trailer for LA’s Finest below.

From the universe of the Jerry Bruckheimer/Michael Bay “Bad Boys” franchise, “L.A.’s Finest” follows Syd Burnett (Gabrielle Union), last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel, who has seemingly left her complicated past behind to become an LAPD detective. Paired with a new partner, Nancy McKenna (Jessica Alba), a working mom with an equally complex history, Syd is forced to confront how her unapologetic lifestyle may be masking a greater personal secret. Taking on the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles while skirting the rules, and speed limits, Syd and Nancy become a force to be reckoned with – on the streets, and in each other’s lives. The first three installments in the 13-episode series will be exclusively available to Spectrum video subscribers free On Demand (and without ads) on May 13, after which new episodes will release every Monday until the finale.
