Sean Marshall Ben Affleck & Matt Damon are teaming up again to work on a film for Amazon Studios, Mandalay Pictures & Skydance Sports. The film will center on Nike’s sports marketing executive Sonny Vaccaro & his pursuit to sign Michael Joran to Nike in the mid-1980s. Affleck will direct, co-write & star in the film, while Damon will produce, co-write & star in the movie. This will be the first time Affleck will direct his friend Damon.
Affleck will play billionaire Nike co-founder Phile Knight & Damon is set to star as Sonny Vaccaro, Nike’s sports marketing executive who signed Jordan to Nike. The film will show how it wasn’t easy to sway Jordan to sign Jordan & how the signing of Jordan catapulted the Nike brand into becoming a multi-billion dollar sneaker industry. The film will also focus on Jordan’s parents but will show us more of his mother & those that played a part in his personal life.
There is no word yet on when this film will premiere on Amazon or who will be playing the legendary Michael Jordan.
