Boyd Holbrook Cast In 2018’s ‘The Predator’

Shane Black‘s 2018 The Predator film is picking up steam & tagging some familiar faces to the cast. Back in September, news hit that Benicio del Toro was attached to star in the film; however, due to scheduling conflict, del Toro has stepped away from The Predator. Despite hearing what some would call saddening news, 20th Century Fox announced that they found del Toro’s replacement.

Fox made an interesting & unexpected move by announcing that Boyd Holbrook (Netflix’s Narco’s) will be replacing del Toro. Holbrook is a fan-favorite on the Netflix Narco series, but putting him in the new Predator film could ground him as rising star on the big screen. Although casting news is limited, Fox did say that they are eyeing James Franco for the lead role, & there were also talks that Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson expressed interest in joining the film.

The story is still being kept secret, but as it stands, the film is targeting a February 9, 2018 release date. Shane Black will will direct and co-write with Fred Dekker, & John Davis will produce.

Release Date: February 9, 2018
Distributor: 20th Century Fox
Director: Shane Black
Writer(s): Shane Black, Fred Dekker
Producer: John Davis
