Diego Luna Is In Talks To Play Leading Role In Scarface Remake

Yes, whether you refuse to accept it or not, Universal Pictures is still moving forward with the Scarface remake. Fans of the 1983 Scarface were left divided when a rumor circulated that Leonardo DiCaprio was in talks to play the leading role, but it ended up being just a rumor.

Even though the story for the film is still being kept under lock & key, we do have word that Universal Pictures eyeing Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) to play the leading role. According to Variety, director  Antoine Fuqua has also departed the film to focus his attention on Sony’s The Equalizer 2.

The film might be without a director, but we still have a script that was recently touched up by Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire), which was previously written by David Ayer (Suicide Squad) & Jonathan Herman (Straight Outta Compton, Ghost in the Shell).
