Director James Gunn removed from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3

News has broke that Marvel Studio’s parent company Disney has fired director James Gunn from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Studio Chairman Alan Horn said in a statement released by Walt Disney Studios

The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him.”

The firing has come from the unearthing of a long series of inappropriate tweets from Gunn between 2008 and 2011. The tweets contained topics of rape and pedophilia.

Gunn was set to direct and was in the process of writing the 3rd film of the Guardians franchise to be released in 2020. Filming was to begin sometime in 2019.

As of now, no replacement director and or writers have been announced. Please follow our site for more updates.
