Sean Marshall Sony is showing off some beautiful games that are sure to cause many gamers to rush to their local stores day one with their wallets in hand. Sony caused many gamers hearts to beat out of control last year when they showed us footage from the next God of War game.
The gameplay trailer revealed some of Kratos’ new fighting mechanics & also showed us some of the new villains we’ll be going up against. Being that this is a game based within Norse mythology, seeing creatures like the Frost Giants & other familiar beast were not surprising. However, the trailer did reveal that we will be interacting with Jormungand (The World Serpent), who most know know battles Thor during Ragnarok.
The game is locked in to be a soft reboot that will take the series the world of Norse mythology—all previous games were based on Greek mythology. Series protagonist Kratos will return as the main character, and he now has a son named Atreus. Kratos acts as a mentor and protector to his son, and has to master the rage that has driven him for many years.
The game is set to release early 2018.
