HBO Max Backs Off From Removing Major DC Films In July

Fans were confused & livid when it was announced that films like Justice League & Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice were going to be removed temporarily in July. Some thought that this would be due to the Justice League Snyder Cut heading over to HBO Max next year, but it was mainly because of other companies having the rights to certain DC films.

WarnerMedia Entertainment announced that they are extending the time films like Justice League, Suicide Squad & Batman v Superman will stay on their platform. The major DC films were supposed to be removed next month but will not be on the platform until December 2020.

The films remaining on the platform until December 2020 are:

  • Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, 2016
  • Justice League, 2017
  • Suicide Squad, 2016
  • Superman: The Movie, 1978
  • Superman II, 1980
  • Superman III, 1983
  • Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, 1987
  • Superman: Unbound, 2013
  • Watchmen (Movie), 2009
  • Wonder Woman, 2017

At least we will get to watch these films throughout the year, but it’s still a bit of a letdown that these core films of DC’s lineup will be removed.
