Morgan Creek Plans To Reboot Ace Ventura, Young Guns & More

Many moviegoers that grew up throughout the 80’s-90’s have voiced their opinions, countless times, about having Hollywood reboot their beloved films. Well, this new announcement of reboots will definitely include table flipping, foul language & probably some mild nudity.

Morgan Creek Entertainment Group has revealed via Deadline that they plan on rebooting some classic movies from the 80’s & 90’s. According to the company, they plan on rebooting Ace Ventura, Young Guns & Major League.

Morgan Creek president David Robinson said that they will approach the Ace Ventura reboot as

“a mainstream theatrical production relaunch. Because it’s episodic in nature, about a pet detective, it also lends itself to a traditional single-camera series franchise.”

Robinson added that he wants Jim Carrey to appear in the film & approach it in “a baton-handing” manner that will bring attention to his son or daughter. As for Young Guns, little is known, but they are looking for new faces to replave the original cast. Young Guns is a retelling of the adventures of Billy the Kid during the Lincoln County War, which took place in New Mexico during 1877–78. The film starred Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, Charlie Sheen, Dermot Mulroney, Casey Siemaszko, Terence Stamp, Terry O’Quinn, Brian Keith, & Jack Palance.

Nothing outside of a reboot heading for Major League was confirmed. The film follows new owner of the Cleveland Indians, former showgirl Rachel Phelps (Margaret Whitton), has a sweetheart deal to move the team to Miami. But to break the lease with the city of Cleveland, ticket sales have to plummet. So Phelps hires the most incompetent players available, including near-blind pitcher Rick Vaughn (Charlie Sheen) and injury-prone catcher Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger). But her villainous tactics accidentally foster a can-do team spirit, turning the Indians into potential winners. The original film stars stars Tom Berenger, Charlie Sheen, Wesley Snipes, James Gammon, Bob Uecker, Rene Russo, & Corbin Bernsen.
