New Footage Shown For New Rurouni Kenshin Anime

A new Rurouni Kenshin anime is coming from Liden Films & was a teaser trailer for the anime was revealed at yesterday’s Jump Festa event in Japan! Although a release date or any specific details about the new anime weren’t announced, we did get to see Kenshin’s latest design in motion. Check out the teaser below.

Rurouni Kenshin was created by Nobuhiro Watsuki & takes place during the 11th year of the Meiji period in Japan & follows a former assassin from the Bakumatsu, known as Hitokiri Battosai. After his work against the bakufu, Hitokiri Battosai disappears to become Himura Kenshin: a wandering swordsman who protects the people of Japan with a vow never to take another life. The manga ran from 1994-1999.

The anime series aired in 1996 & ended in 1998 & was followed up by three OVA’s: Trust & Betrayal (1999), Reflection (2001–02)
& New Kyoto Arc (2011–12). Japan also released five live-action films directed by Keishi Ōtomo & starred Takeru Satoh as Kenshin.
