Shekhar Kapur Is Moving Forward With A Bruce Lee Biopic; Writers Revealed

If there is one martial artist whose name still rings bells & comes up in conversations about the greatest fighter, it is none other than the legendary Bruce Lee. Over the years, we’ve seen television films & other movies about Lee that somewhat flew under thebradar, but it looks like Shekhar Kapur, who has signed on to direct the film, is planning on bringing Lee back into the spotlight in a glorious way.

It was announced today that Kaput is working on a Bruce Lee biopic that covers is youthful days. The film is flying under the working title “The Little Dragon” & has a budget of $20 million. The film isnin pre-production &  is planned as a U.S.-China-Hong Kong co-pro financed by Dadi Media Group, Beijing Golden World Pictures, Shanghai Longzhilin Cultural Investment Partnership & Kirin Media. Shannon Lee will team up with Kapur under Bruce Lee Entertainment to co-write the film. Con Vergennes Entertainment’s Tim Kwok will produce the film.

The story takes place in 1950s Hong Kong, where a young Bruce Lee is forced to come face-to-face with his family’s disappointment, young love, true friendship, betrayal, racism, deep hardship and the inner fire that threatens to unravel his destiny.

No release date or cast was announced.
