Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Sequel Gets Release Date

Sony’s 2018 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse not only landed well with moviegoers & fans of Miles Morales but also swung in & rocked the box office & Oscars. The film was praised for it’s overall presentation & story but some of us were left wondering when Sony would announce an update for a sequel.

An announcement came from the official Twitter account of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse that revealed that the sequel to the 2018 film has an official release date. The sequel will hit theaters April 8, 2022! No word on the story or word on who from the original film will be returning but this is fantastic news! Check out the Twitter announcement video below.

The first film followed Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales, who was bitten by a radioactive spider & suddenly develops mysterious powers that transform him into the one and only Spider-Man. When he meets Peter Parker, he soon realizes that there are many others who share his special, high-flying talents. Miles must now use his newfound skills to battle the evil Kingpin, a hulking madman who can open portals to other universes and pull different versions of Spider-Man into our world.
