Sean Marshall In March of 2017, Donnie Yen surprised video game fans by announcing that he will be playing Wei Shen in the Sleeping Dogs film. Sleeping Dogs is a game that was released on the PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 back in 2012. The story follows Wei Shen, an undercover Hong Kong-American police officer on assignment to infiltrate the Sun On Yee Triad organization.
Not much has been released about the upcoming film. As of right now, all we know is that production company Original Film will be producing the film. With the film seemingly in development hell, Yen reassured fans that the film is still in development. Yen released some pictures on Instagram with him next to his video game counterpart with a message saying, “Sometimes great things take a bit of time. Sleeping Dog is motion, you guys ready for this?” Check out the Instagram post & pictures below.
