Warner Bros. Will Release Two Additional Films Exclusively On HBO Max

Warner Bros. Pictures is definitely the hot topic in Hollywood right now. With their huge move to release all of their 2021 films on HBO Max, causing an avalanche of trouble between them, their directors & distributors, it seems WB is still keeping their head high above the water with another move!

It was revealed today that WB will be releasing two DC films a year exclusively on HBO Max, with up to four theatrical releases a year! However, as of right now, Walter Hamada, president of DC films, announced that the two films releasing yearly will focus on minor characters such as Static Shock & Batgirl. Static Shock has been on the radar for a while now, especially with Michael B. Jordan announced to produce the film. Hamada also spoke on the possibility of DC television shows making their way to HBO Max that will piece together the DC Cinematic Universe.

WB recently released Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO Max to some mixed reviews but did pull in a huge amount of viewers across the platform. It looks like WB’s test to see if their DC films could flip the script on HBO Max definitely paid off & now they’re aiming to center their DC films & upcoming shows on HBO Max to grow this platform into a powerhouse.
