We knew for sometime now that Disney was grabbing a handful of their classic animated films & were bringing them to the big screen. The Lion King, Aladdin, Dumbo, The Little Mermaid & Mulan are a few heading our way, but it was confirmed today that we’re getting another live-action treatment from the Disney animated vault.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney is bringing their Lilo and Stitch film out of the animated format to a CG/live-action hybrid movie! No word on casting has been announced, but we are definitely excited to see how this ultimately turns out. The film will be written by Mike Van Waes.
Lilo and Stitch, get ready to crash-land on Earth with Stitch, a runaway genetic experiment from a faraway planet. As he wreaks havoc on the Hawaiian Islands, he becomes the mischievous adopted alien “puppy” of an independent little girl named Lilo and learns about loyalty, friendship, and ‘ohana, the Hawaiian tradition of family.
