Brian Tyree Henry & Aubrey Plaza Are In Talks To Join The Child’s Play Reboot

MGM’s Child’s Play reboot has ruffled quite a few feathers by revealing that the Chucky, the God Guy doll fans loved will no longer be possessed but will now be a doll that was hacked. News about the cast joining the reboot has been little to none but now MGM is stirring the pot & has revealed to actors who they’re looking at to join the film.

It was confirmed today that Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) & Aubrey Plaza (Legion) are being looked at to play leading roles in the film Plaza is being targeted to play the mother in the film who was originally played by Catherine Hicks & Henry is in talks to play the detective who was played by Chris Sarandon. Outside of these two actors, no other cast members have been announced.

Gunned down by Detective Mike Norris (Chris Sarandon), dying murderer Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) uses black magic to put his soul inside a doll named Chucky — which Karen Barclay (Catherine Hicks) then buys for her young son, Andy (Alex Vincent). When Chucky kills Andy’s baby sitter, the boy realizes the doll is alive and tries to warn people, but he’s institutionalized. Now Karen must convince the detective of the murderous doll’s intentions, before Andy becomes Chucky’s next victim.
