It was yesterday evening that new came directly from Kathleen Kennedy that Phil Lord & Chris Miller wEren officially departing the Han Solo movie. This left many fans wondering, with production almost at a close, who Kennedy would bring in to replace the powerhouse pair & if thSir departure would push the film back.
Well, Deadline s reporting that Kennedy is indeed already eyeing directors for the project & two of them are well-established. According to the site, Ron Howard, Lawrence Kasdan & Joe Johnston (Jumanji) are being eyed. Kasdan would definitely be a welcoming name to the film since he has been attached to the Star Wars films since Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
The film stars Alden Ehrenreich as Solo, alongside Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Joonas Suotamo. The film is set in the Star Wars universe before the original 1977 film Star Wars and explores Han Solo and Chewbacca’s adventures, including meeting Lando Calrissian.
