Sean Marshall When the first look of Sonic the Hedgehog was revealed, most fans lost their minds because the look of the beloved character & the fact that his origins were a bit out of this world. Yes, Sonic was confirmed to be alien & that alone left a sour taste in the mouths of longtime fans. However, Paramount Pictures just revealed another character from the upcoming film that might raise a few eyebrows or continue to further the divide in the fan community.
Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik was finally revealed today & the look does have pieces from the Robotnik we grew up with but Carrey’s Robotnik is slimmer than the one from the games & anime. Check out the first image below.
Sonic the Hedgehog will be directed by Jeff Fowler in his feature directorial debut & written by Patrick Casey, Josh Miller & Oren Uziel, from a story by Van Robichaux & Evan Susser. The film stars Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog and Jim Carrey as Sonic’s nemesis Dr. Robotnik, alongside James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, Tika Sumpter, Adam Pally, & Neal McDonough.
