Rockstar Games announced on their website that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018.
The follow up to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption has been pushed back twice. Once thought to be released during the holiday season of 2017, a delay was announced by Rockstar Games with a new release near the spring of 2018. It is also rumoured that a PC version of RDR2 is expected to drop in late 2019. The PC version is sure to coincide with the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 mods that can bring a whole new level of excitement to this upcoming game. Stay tuned to mod websites such as RDR2Mods.com to be the first to hear about any eventual RDR2 mods for PC. Danish retail site Coolshop leaked a potential release date for console versions as June 8th 2018. But today, Rockstar released this announcement.
Dear All,
We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.
With thanks,
Rockstar Games
In the same announcement, new images for the game were also released below. Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26th 2018… hopefully!
