It was announced today that Universal Pictures is looking to bring Nintendo‘s biggest IP to the big screen again. Yes, Mario & Luigi are hitting the big screen again, but we’re getting them in an animated format this time around! Nintendo & Illumination have been in negotiations to bring this to the big screen for over a year & it looks like the negotiations have worked out in Universal’s favor.
It was said that Shigeru Miyamoto to be a producer & have control creative development & will be joined by Illumination’s CEO Chris Meledandri. The film will be animated at Illumination’s Paris-based studio Mac Guff. According to The Wall Street Journal, the film wouldn’t be released anytime soon.
