The Division is Free To Play This Weekend

The Division, an open world shooter from Ubisoft, is free to play this weekend. Access to the full game ends on May 7,11:59 PM PDT/2:59 AM EDT for Xbox One and PS4 and at 1 PM PDT/4 PM EDT  for PC.

In this open world Manhattan, you are wading through the aftermath of a biological attack. A virus was unleashed, crippling the city.  Without basic services, food or water, it takes only days for the city to fall into chaos. As a member of The Division, your job is simple. Find the source of the virus, restore order and take back New York.

The Division has mostly favorable reviews, with an average rating of 80 on Metacritic. The game is mostly hailed for its mixture of deep RPG elements, multiplayer and strategic gunplay. Some of the cons are slightly repetitive missions in order to get loot and some net connection related bugs. There’s nothing that suggests it isn’t worth trying for yourself as it is free.

If you decide to keep the game after the free trial you can buy the game at a discount. The standard edition will be $19.99 through May 15. Gold edition will be $31.49 on PS4 and PC,and $35.99 on Xbox One.All of your progress and characters will carry over into your purchase.
