Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment released the first trailer for The Dr. Suess Christmas tale The Grinch.
Peter Candeland and Yarrow Cheney direct with a script by Michael LeSieur. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as the mean one. Oddly enough, no other voice talent has been revealed.
While the children’s book released in 1957, the most memorable adaptation of How the Grinch stole Christmas was 1966’s animated T.V. film with Boris Karloff voicing the Grinch and narrating the story. Jim Carrey starred in the 2000 live-action film by Ron Howard, earning $345.1 million in the worldwide box office on a $123 million dollar budget.
The Grinch will hit theaters on November 9th, in time to nab the Thanksgiving movie-going crowd.
