Uncharted Movie Has A Rated R Script

The last update we got for Sony’s upcoming Uncharted film was back in January when  Joe Carnahan teased fans with the front page of the script via Instagram. With no cast announced for the film, most thought the next piece of news to arrive would reveal who would be playing Nathan Draken, but we actually got some heftier news that is sure to cause fans of the series to rejoice.

Carnahan revealed via Comingsoon.net  that the script he wrote for the film is definitely rated r.

Carnahan said:

When I wrote “Uncharted,” I didn’t spare the rod. I wrote it the way the video game is. They swear in the game, they’re kinda foul-mouthed and I kept all that stuff intact and I definitely didn’t write it as a “PG-13” movie, I wrote it the way that movie should be written.

This is solid news & should really have fans excited to see what Carnahan has in store for the film. I mean, Uncharted isn’t really a kids game, so it should come as no surprise that the script has the r rating tone.

The Uncharted film is still without a release date & currently has no actors attached to the film. It’s also up in the air about whether the film will follow the solid story from the game or not. The film will be produced by Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, & Ari Arad.

Release Date: TBA
Distributor: Sony Pictures
Director: Sean Levy
Writer: Joe Carnahan
Producer(s): Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, Ari Arad
