It should come as no surprise that another classic is about to get a remake & that it’s another Stephen King classic. With Stephen King’s IT already rocking the Stephen King fan base & is causing non-Stephen King fans to research just what’s the hype around IT.
Universal Pictures & Blumhouse Productions is moving forward with a remake of the 1984 Firestarter film. The film is based on the 1980 novel written by King. Universal revealed that they’re tagging Akiva Goldman to helm the film. Goldman announced this during the Overlook Film Festival.
The story for the book is as follows:
The Department of Scientific Intelligence (aka “The Shop”) never anticipated that two participants in their research program would marry and have a child. Charlie McGee inherited pyrokinetic powers from her parents, who had been given a low-grade hallucinogen called “Lot Six” while at college. Now the government is trying to capture young Charlie and harness her powerful firestarting skills as a weapon.
