In an exclusive report from The Wrap, Michael Bay has been sought to direct Lobo for Warner Bros.
The report stats Bay has given notes to writer Jason Fuchs, who co wrote 2017’s hit Wonder Woman with Zack Snyder and Allan Heinberg. These notes will be incorporated into the current treatment for Lobo and may determine if Bay gets the nod to direct.
Guy Ritchie was tabbed to direct a Lobo film in 2009 with a screenplay written by Don Payne. The “Main Man” made his debut in 1983’s Omega Man #3 comic, but made a rise to popularity in the 1990s as an intergallatic bounty hunter and anti hero.
Bay’s last directing effort was 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight that earned a franchise low 605.4 million world wide. While still serving as a producer on other films, the only project currently lined up for Bay is an Elephant Poaching documentary.
No deal has been finalized for Bay to direct at the moment, but we will keep an eye out for any details that emerge.
