John Lasseter Talks Incredibles 2

With the D23 Expo starting up today, a lot of moviegoers & gamers are looking forward to seeing just what Disney plans on unleashing at this year’s expo. We know that the follow-up to the Incredibles film is moving forward, but IGN got the chance to sit down with Pixar Studio head John Lasseter to discuss where this sequel will take us. According to Lasseter, the sequel picks up a minute after the first film ended.

Lasseter said:

“It starts right as the first one finishes, so it just carries on.”

Lasseter added:

“It starts with the Underminer and a big old set piece. You know that at the end of the first movie when he comes up and you see the family dressed as superheroes, well that’s where start this movie. One of the unique things about the Incredibles is it’s really a story of a family set in the world of superheroes. This one carries on that theme,” Lasseter added. “It’s awesome, the idea we came up with — simple as that… We love to really look at our own lives and look at what’s going on, and find themes that we know will resonate with the audience.”

As of right now, only Holly Hunter & Samuel L. Jackson have been confirmed for the sequel. No story has been revealed yet. The Incredibles II will hit theaters on June 15, 2018.
