Tom & Jerry Live-action Film In The Works At WB; Scooby-Doo Also Set To Return To The Big Screen

It’s nothing new to hear that Hollywood is getting up to bring a classic cartoon series back to the big screen with a live-action touch. Disney is working on a Rescue Rangers film, SEGA has a Sonic the Hedgehog movie hesding to theaters in 2019 & now I looks like WB is gearing up to bring two of their cartoon heavy hitters to the big screen.

WB is planning to bring Tom & Jerry to the big screen with a CG/live-action twist. WB brought Tim Story on to helm the film & the two rivals will be unable to speak, unlike the 1992 Tom & Jerry: The Movie. No word yet on the plot, but we should expect a solid film from Story.

Some of us might remember the two dreadful Scooby-Doo live-action films with Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, Linda Cardellini & Rowan Atkinson back in 2002 & 2004. Both films didn’t land well with fans, but WB is taking a new approach with Mystery, Inc. An animated movie is in the works for the Scooby-Doo gang with Tony Cervone set to direct the film & Kelly Fremon Craig will write the film. WB is also working on a Wile E. Coyote vs Acme CG/live-action movie.
