True Lies Television Series Heads To Disney+

Disney+ is already packing the big guns with it’s November lineup. Not only will all of their Disney animated films, Marvel Cinematic Universe films & Star Wars films & series be there, but it’s been confirmed that the platform will also bring home a rebooted True Lies series.

Collider spoke with director McG & he said the following about the upcoming show:

Well right now my new thing for television is I’m doing True Lies at Disney+. Which is exciting. I’m writing that one, which is very exciting, because I’m so passionate about that story where you think you know your partner but you don’t.”

When asked with Arnold Schwarzenegger will have any involvement in the series, McG said:

There’s talk of that. It’s largely rebooted but there may be a spot there, we’ll see.”


The film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger & Jamie Lee Curtis & waa directed by James Cameron in 1994. The film follows Harry Tasker (Arnold Schwarzenegger), a spy who is tracking down nuclear missiles in the possession of Islamic jihadist Aziz (Art Malik). Harry’s mission is complicated when he realizes his neglected wife, Helen (Jamie Lee Curtis), is contemplating an affair with Simon (Bill Paxton), a used-car salesman who claims he’s a spy. When Aziz kidnaps Harry and Helen, the secret agent must save the world and patch up his marriage at the same time.
