Sean Marshall Last month the company that brought us Dark Souls announced their latest project, Code Vein. Today they’ve released the first trailer showing the game in action. We get a glimpse of the post apocalyptic world where humanity no longer exists. In this ruined cityscape pierced through by the Thorns of Judgment we have a hidden society of revenants called Vein. Relying on a variety of weapons like axes, bayonets, and spears you will battle your way out while also trying to not fall prey to your own bloodlust. Surrender to your thirst and you become one of the Lost, mindless monsters who wander the land and eat their own kind.
Players will also be able to recruit a partner to fight alongside them. Each partner has their own combat style and background story, so each partner offers a different gameplay feel. You will also be able to drain your enemies of their blood and then use this “Blood Veil” to enhance your powers and abilities. All of these tools will be essential in creating combat strategy with your partner for the various dungeons.

Featuring a story driven connected dungeon experience, dive into the world of CODE VEIN. Create your own character and choose your partner as you venture out into a world of destruction, overrun by the Lost. Use your combined strength to coordinate your approach and defend each other from surprise attacks or overpowered enemies using your Blood Veil and various weapons. Change the feel of the game depending on which partner you choose, each with their own combat style and background story.

Experience the power of blood as you use unique Blood Veils to drain your enemies to enhance your abilities. Using “Gifts” powered by enemy blood, players can increase their strength, weaken enemies, and utilize new weapon abilities and overpowered attacks.

Take on the Lost as you explore the malefic world of CODE VEIN. Choose from a myriad of weapons such as bayonets, axes and spears, to accommodate your favorite battle style.
