‘Blue Lock’ Anime Gets a New Trailer & Poster; Additional Cast Revealed

Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura‘s soccer-based anime Blue Lock got a new trailer, new poster & additional cast reveal today. The additional cast members are Ryōta Suzuki (Junichi Wanima & Keisuke Wanima), Natsuki Hanae (Ikki Niko) & Takahiro Sakurai (Sue Itoshi).

Suzuki, Hanae & Sakurai will be joining Kazuki Ura (Yoichi Isagi), Tasuku Kaito (Meguru Bachira), Yūki Ono (Rensuke Kunigami), Sōma Saitō (Hyōma Chigiri), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Jingo Raichi), Daishi Kajita(Asahi Noruhaya), Kenichi Suzumura (Ryōsuke Kira), Shōya Chiba (Yūdai Imamura), Hitoshi Kamiya(Jinpachi Ego), Junichi Suwabe(Shouei Barou), Ryūnosuke Watanuki (Okuhito lemon), Shugo Nakamura (Gin Gagamaru), Eri Yukimura (Anri Teieri), Masatomo Nakazawa (Wataru Kuon),  Kazuyuki Okitsu (Zantetsu Tsurugi), & Ali Ichikawa(Gurimu Igarashi).

Tetsuaki Watanabe will direct the series at 8-Bit, and Shunsuke Ishikawa will serve as assistant director. Taku Kishimoto is locked in to supervise & oversee the scripts & Kaneshiro will supervise the story. Yutaka Uemura will serve as the concept advisor, while Masaru Shindō
will serve as the lead character designer and chief animation director with Kenji Tanabe and Kento Toye. Jun Murayama will compose the music for the anime, & the ending theme song “Winner” will be performed by Shigo Nakamura.

The synopsis for the manga is as follows: The story is as follows: After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Japan Football Union is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match…and to do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players. Who will emerge to lead the team…and will they be able to out-muscle and out-ego everyone who stands in their way?

Blue Lock will premiere on October 8th on TV Ashi & Crunchyroll.
