Daniel Kaluuya Confirms That He Will Not Be Returning for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

An update from Marvel Studios’ upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has emerged. It looks like Daniel Kaluuya’s W’Kabi character will not be returning in the sequel.

Rotten Tomatoes Jacqueline Coley interviewed Kaluuya for his upcoming NOPE film, where he told her that the sequel would not include his character. When asked if the removal of his character was needed, Kaluuya said: “I have no idea. I speak to Ryan, I’m not gonna go, ‘Yo, [put me in the movie].’ He’s living his life and working hard. Whatever the story needs, you know? That [first movie] was a moment for us, and I don’t want to go like, ‘I’m trying to be in it just because I want it.’ It’s for us, I’m a fan.

Kaluuya added: “I’m that kind of person if the story and the piece is better without me, I’m like, ‘Yo, I’m gonna watch this,’ because I really wanna watch it. And if I’m in it and I’m able to serve it, then I’m in it. And I just stay in that position.

Kaluuya not being a part of this film seemingly confirms the rumor from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever News on Twitter that stated: “Okoye will have a same-sex relationship with another Dora Milaje in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever!”. As much as this is starting to look less like a rumor, we’ll have to wait & see where the character of Okoye will be heading in the new film.
