With the hype around the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures The Batman film pumping up amongst moviegoers & comic book fans across the globe, David Lewman’s Batman: An Original Movie Novel is shining some light on the origin of this universe’s iconic Batmobile.
In Lewman’s movie tie-in for The Batman, he reveals that a teenage Bruce Wayne first came across the muscle car from the ’60s or ’70s in the cave underneath Wayne Tower. Bruce spent years restoring the car underneath the tower & even took it out to do some street racing under the name “Paul”, which we can assume is a nod to Paul Walker’s Brian character from the Fas & Furious films. The book also reveals that during his teen years, Bruce was also a speedster that often was pulled over by cops but was let go because of his wealth & status in Gotham.
Bruce’s relationship with bats is also touched on in the book. The book states that Bruce came across the bats in the underground tunnels that span across Wayne Tower to the Wayne Mansion & that Bruce started putting the pieces together for his Batman identity when he was 17.
The synopsis of the novel is as follows:
