Ghostbusters Animated Series Is Heading to Netflix

It was announced during the Ghostbusters Day Celebration that Netflix is working on an animated Ghostbusters series. The series will fall under Sony Pictures Animation and will bring Gil Kenan & Jason Reitman of Ghost Corps, Inc. on as executive producers. Kenan and Reitman also co-wrote last November’s “Ghostbusters Afterlife” film that starred Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd.

As of now, no plot or release date has been revealed. This animated series will be the third animated Ghostbusters series to be produced! Fans will remember “The Real Ghostbusters” series that ran from 1986-1991 with 140 episodes & “Extreme Ghostbusters,” which aired in 1997 and only had 40 episodes.

Reitman told fans to keep their eye out for more announcements today via Twitter. Reitman said: “We have a lot of secrets, and we’re going to share a few of them with you today. So, keep an eye on socials and definitely check out tonight. We have something really special we want to share with you.”
