Sean Marshall Last year, Netflix announced that they were working on an animated Carmen Sandiego series that would have Gina Rodriguez attached to voice Carmen Sandiego, but they have now changed their direction & are aiming for a live-action film. Deadline reported today that the animated series is no more but a live-action film is now in the works. Gina Rodriguez is confirmed to be playing Carmen Sandiego in the upcoming film.
Andy Berman will direct the film & Rodriguez will produce the film via her I Can and I Will productions with Kevin Misha & Caroline Fraser. No director or release date was revealed.

V.I.L.E. seeks to commit incredible thefts and/or cause chaos in other ways, while ACME tries to thwart them and capture their agents. Carmen Sandiego is central to the computer game series, which originally focused on teaching children geography. In the 90’s, Fox had an animated series based on Carmen Sandiegowas voiced by Rita Moreno.
