Sean Marshall Marvel and Netflix just announced that Lucy Liu will direct the Luke Cage season two premiere.
Liu, who directed four episodes of the show “Elementary” has this to say:
What a thrill to collaborate with Marvel and Netflix, two industry titans, who paint our world with inspiring stories and beguiling characters. It is an honor to work with such a passionate and fearless team.
Marvel seems to be really excited about this. Executive Producer Jeph Loeb added:
When you’re dealing with a bulletproof man, it helps if you have a bulletproof director. Lucy brings a keen eye, a superb sense of story, and an obvious love of actors. She is rocking Luke Cage 2.
If they’re excited, I’m excited. While Liu doesn’t have a long list of directing credits, hopefully her experience with action films will inform her work. It would be awesome to see Luke Cage really bringing the pain and upping the action level straight out of the gate in season two.
Luke Cage is still set to release in 2018 on Netflix.
