Netflix’s Live-Action One Piece Series Sets Sail with Teaser Trailer

Netflix released the teaser trailer for their live-action One Piece series. Check out the trailer below. 

One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 1997. The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, where he explores the Grand Line in search of the mythical treasure known as the “One Piece” in order to become the next King of the Pirates.

The series stars Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar. The series is being developed by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda and will release on August 31, 2023. 

The synopsis for the live-action series is as follows: 

The series follows the adventures of the fugitive Straw Hat Pirates, as they explore the dangerous oceans, lands and beyond in search of the “One Piece”, a fabled treasure that will make their captain The King of the Pirates. But, the Navy is on their ship’s tail and they are not the only crew searching for the One Piece. Armed with skills and unbreakable friendship, the Straw Hats are ready for the journey and even more ready to fight for their dreams together.
