New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Film Under Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg Is Heading To Big Screen

Surprise, surprise! A new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film is heading to the big screen & it’s a reboot. This should be no surprise as the two films released under Nickelodeon & Paramount Pictures failed to bring in the numbers needed to ground a solid franchise. However, it was announced in 2019 that Paramount Pictures was planning to do a reboot with Michael Bay set to produce, but it was later canceled.

The reboot will be produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg & James Weaver under Point Grey Pictures & will be helmed by Jeff Rowe, who wrote for the animated series Gravity Falls. Brendan O’Brien, writer on Seth Rogen’s 2016 film Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising will be writing the script. The reboot is confirmed to be a CG film.

Brian Robbins, President, Kids & Family for ViacomCBS had this to say:

“Adding Seth, Evan and James’ genius to the humor and action that’s already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property. I’m looking forward to see what they do, and I know that Ramsey Naito and her team are excited to take the Nick Animation Studio into another great direction with their first-ever CG-animated theatrical.”

No release date or story has been revealed for the upcoming reboot.
