Teaser for Transformers Spin-off Bumblebee released.

Paramount Pictures released a teaser trailer for the Transformers spin-off prequel Bumblebee this morning along with a poster.

Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) directs with Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Pamela Adlon, Jorge Lendborg Jr, Kenneth Choi, and Rachel Crow starring.

Michael Bay, who served as the director for the previous 5 Tranformers films remains onboard Bumblebee as a producer along with long time producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

Here us the film’s summary…

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie, on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken.

Along with the teaser we get our first poster for the film.

While the trailer shows the standard action shots (I’m pretty happy to see Star Scream in this), we are potentially in for a story with some heart in it. Something that I felt maybe was missing from previous films if the franchise.

The film will serve as a launch point for a potential spin off universe for the Transformers. If successful, we more than likely are in for more individual character films. I still want a Beast Wars film.

And below us the trailer. Bumblebee will be in theaters in time for Christmas December 21st.
