The animated Super Mario Bros. Movie from Universal Pictures is getting a new release date. Originally slated to hit theaters on April 7, 2023, the film has now been moved to April 5, 2023. According to Universal the new release date will go into effect in the United States and “more than 60 markets around the world.” The film will release in Japan on April 28th, while other markets will target late April through May.
The film will star Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, Fred Armisen, Sebastian Maniscalco, Charles Martinet, and Kevin Michael Richardson. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are directing the film and Matthew Fogel has penned the script.
From Illumination and Nintendo comes a new animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros…Mario, a mustachioed Italian plumber treks across Mushroom Kingdom, while embarking on a quest to save Princess Peach from the Koopa villain Bowser.
Universal Pictures will release the final official trailer for the film in March, which will most likely release the same day that tickets will go on sale.
