Zazie Beetz Confirmed For WB’s Joker Film

Zazie Beetz shook up the comic book community when she was first announced to be playing Domino in 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool 2. This was mainly an issue for some because some felt like the film was replacing the “Caucasian” Domino for an African-American one, which sparked some feuds between fans of the character. However, her Domino was received with opn arms from fans after the film’s release.

Well, Warner Bros. is now bringing in Beetz to star alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the upcoming Joker film. The Hollywood Reporter said that Beetz will be playing “a single mother who catches the interest of the man who will become the Clown Prince of Crime.” Could this be a change up on the Harley Quinn character or a description that was meant to throw us off? I guess we’ll find out soon, but I do think it would be great to see Beetz step into the role of Harley Quinn, especially if this is an otherworld story.

Joker is set to hit the but screen on October 4, 2019.
