Lionsgate Announced a New Saw Film Heading Our Way Next Year

It has been confirmed per Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures that a new Saw film will be released in theaters on October 27, 2023.

Mark Burg and Oren Koules, who serve as the franchise producers, had this to say: “We have been listening to what the fans have been asking for and are hard at work planning a movie that Saw aficionados and horror fans alike will love. And part of that is giving the reins to Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI, which is still one of the fans’ favorites in the entire series. More details will be revealed soon.”

Kevin Greutert will return to direct this project, having previously worked on Saw: The Final Chapter and Saw VI.

The last installment in the Saw franchise was 2021’s Spiral: From the Book of Saw, which starred Chris Rock, Max Minghella, Marisol Nichols, and Samuel L. Jackson. The film follows Detective Zeke Banks (Chris Rock) as he tries to stop a Jigsaw copycat killer. Spiral: From the Book of Saw grossed $23.2 million in the United States and Canada, and $17.3 million in other areas, bringing home a total of $40.6 million worldwide.
