Noriyuki Abe will not be returning to direct the anime & will be replaced by Tomohisha Taguchi (Twin Star Exorcists, Kino’s Journey – The Beautiful World, Akudama Drive), who will oversee the scripts for the anime with Masaki Hiramatsu. Masashi Kudo will return as the character designer. Shiro Sagisu will also be returning to compose the music for the series. The Thousand-Year Blood War arc is the last manga arc in the Bleach series & spans from issues 55-74.
Bleach follows the adventures of the hotheaded teenager Ichigo Kurosaki, who inherits his parents’ destiny after he obtains the powers of a Soul Reaper—a death personification similar to the Grim Reaper—from another Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will return in October 2022 on TV Tokyo, but it will get an early screening in September in Japan.
