New Trailer & Visual Released For ‘Reincarnated as a Sword’ Anime

It has been announced that the light novel series by YUU Tanaka and LLO’s Reincarnated As A Sword will receive an anime adaptation. The promotional video, which can be seen below, reveals a new cast and new theme songs. The introductory theme song, “Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita” (Reincarnated as a Sword ), is also revealed in the video and performed by Kishida Kyōdan & The Akeboshi Rockets.

The anime will debut on Tokyo MX , on October 5 at 11:00 pm, and will also air on ABC TV, and BS Asahi will follow. The episodes will launch a week prior and stream on the ABEMA Service on September 28th at 11:30 pm. The ending theme song, “more<STRONGLY” will be performed by Maon Kurosaki. 

The cast was also announced & includes Shinichiro Miki as Master and Ari Kakuma as Fran. Shinichiro Miki (Master), Aki Kakuma (Franc), Ami Koshimizu (Amanda), Wataru Hatano (Klimt), Toru Indada (Donadron), Rumi Okubo (Flannel) & Shinhachi Tsuji (Gallas).

Shiniji Ishihira will serve as the director, while Takahiro Nagano will write the script. Atsuki Saitō will be responsible for the characters’ design and will serve as chief animation director. Yasuharu will compose the music. 

The original light novel series and Tomowo Maruyama’s manga will be released in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. This manga features charming artwork by manga artist Tomowo Maruyama. 

The manga’s description is as follows: Reincarnated as a sentient weapon with memories of his past life, but not his name, a magical sword saves a young beast girl from a life of slavery. Fran, the cat-eared girl, becomes his wielder and wants only to grow stronger, while the sword wants to know why he is here. Together, the strange duo’s journey has only just begun! 

Tanaka released the original novels on Shōsetsuka ni Narou website in October 2015. Gentosha began to publish the series with illustrations provided by LLO in July 2016. The 12th book volume was completed in September 2021, and the 13th volume more recently. The manga adaptation was released on Gentosha’s Denshi Birz website in December 2016.
