Dragon Ball Spin-off Series ‘Dragon Ball Gaiden: Tensei-shitara Yamcha Datta Ken’ Announced

Back in October, Shuiesha announced that they were building a Dargon Ball department that would focus on future Dragon Ball manga or animes. Although most of our heads are locked solely on Dragon Ball Super, the confirmation that Dragon Ball would not end with the Super series was enough to make fans jump for joy.

Well, although it might be a bit weird, Shuiesha announced a new spin-off Dragon Ball manga series that will fly under the name Dragon Ball Gaiden: Tensei-shitara Yamcha Datta Ken (Dragon Ball Side Story: The Case of Being Reincarnated as Yamcha). Yes, we know that Yamucha isn’t the most wanted character that fans would like a manga to be centered on, but the premise it interesting.

According to Shuiesha, the new manga will focus on a teenage boy that injures himself & is reincarnated into the body of Yamucha. Since the boy knows of the Dragon Ball universe, he will train hard & aim to become the strongest hero in the Dragon Ball universe. The new manga series will not be written by Akira Toriyama but by Dragon Ball fan/mangaka Garrow Lee.

The first issue of the manga can be read here, but it’s in Japanese.
