First Look at the Ninja Turtles Injustice 2 Gameplay

Warner Bros. Interactive and DC Entertainment announced today that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be available as downloadable characters for DC’s fighting game Injustice 2. A gameplay trailer also dropped giving fans a first look at Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo in full turtle action.

Players will choose which turtle they want to start out as from the character screen and equip themselves with one of four accessories – katanas, bo staff, nunchakus or sais. Each turtle comes with their own unique move sets and character powers, but special moves will call on the other brothers to join in on the fight. In online and tournament modes, the player can select each turtle individually, in the absence of specific loadouts.

From the looks of the trailer, Michelangelo special attack uses his skateboard, while Donatello makes use of his bo staff with moves unlike Kilik in Bandai’s Soul Calibur. Leonardo dismantles enemies by way of ninja stars as well his signature twin katanas and true to Raphael’s character, it’s sheer brute force. The overpower attack includes all four brothers in a shellshock attack that is not to be missed.

Critics of the game see the heroes in a half shell as an odd addition to the Injustice 2 roster, but if gameplay is anything like the trailer, I’m sure fans of the game will love being a turtle.

For those who own Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition or Fighter Pack 3, the turtles will be available February 13. They’ll be available for stand-alone DLC purchase on February 20.
