The Back to the Future Twitter page just announced that Back to the Future will be heading to Broadway in 2023.
Fans might be against the wall on a Back to the Future musical, but they will be happy to know that music from Alan Silvestri & Silvestri will be working with Glen Ballard on a new score for the musical. The musical first premiered at the Manchester Opera House in England in 2020 & starred Olly Dobson as Marty McFly and Roger Bart as Emmett “Doc” Brow.

The musical is based on 1985’s Back to the Future film, which was directed by Robert Zemeckis, and written by Zemeckis and Bob Gale. The film starred Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd,Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover, and Thomas F. Wilson. The movie takes place in 1985 & follows Marty McFly (Fox), a teenager accidentally sent back to 1955 in a time-traveling DeLorean automobile built by his eccentric scientist friend Emmett “Doc” Brown (Lloyd). While in the past, Marty inadvertently prevents his future parents from falling in love—threatening his existence—and is forced to reconcile the pair and somehow get back to the future.
