Hellraiser Reboot Finds Its Home At Hulu

We’ve been hearing about a Hellraiser reboot for over 10 years & only saw it take root in 2019 when Spyglass Entertainment announced it would be bringing it to the big screen with David S. Goyer attached to write. The reboot was originally thought to be heading to the big screen but that was shut down with a recent announcement from Spyglass Entertainment.

The Hellraiser reboot will officially be heading to Hulu. The film will be helmed by David Bruckner & writers Ben Collins & Luke Piotrowski. There’s no word on what the plot will be but we do know that the rebooted film will not be tied to The Hellraiser television series that is currently in the works at HBO Max & has Clive Barker attached as executive producer. The television series is said to not be tied to the reboot heading to Hulu but it will focus on the Cenobites, extra-dimensional beings who are mutilated & brainwashed into torturing humans for all eternity in the Labyrinth.

Barker spoke to Deadline last year & said:

“ I am delighted the Hellraiser mythology is seeing a new life. It’s time the stories went back to their roots. I’m eager to bring to a new audience the most powerful and ancient elements of horror: the darkest evil invading our human lives and how we must find in ourselves the power to resist it.”

There’s no release date for the reboot or the television series.
