The Hollywood Reporter broke ground on Sterling K. Brown & Randall Park’s upcoming movie under Amazon Studios. According to Amazon, the film will be a comedy that is in the vein of 1982’s comedy 48hrs., which starred Eddie Murphy & Nick Nolte.
Amazon said that the story centers on two estranged childhood best friends, to be played by Brown and Park, who now find themselves on opposite sides of the law. Framed and on the run, the two must survive each other long enough to clear their names and stop an international criminal enterprise.
Brown & Park will produce the film under their respective production companies Indian Meadows & Imminent Collision. The film will be penned by Alex Tse, co-creator of Hulu’s Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Danielle Reardon will executive produce.
As of now, there is no release date or title for the project.
