Fist of the North Star Animator & Character Designer Masami Suda Passed Away

If you’ve been a longtime fan of anime like myself, you’ve come across the name Masami Suda. Suda passed away on August 1st at the age of 77. The news of his passing is just now being released due to the family wishing to mourn him privately.

Suda is best known for his animation & character design work on anime such as Fist of the North Star, Slam Dunk, Speed Racer, Gatchaman & Yōkai Watch, to name a few. He is also one of the founders of the Japanese Animation Creators Association (JAniCA). There is no word on what Suda passed from, but we send our condolences out to his family & his work will forever remain a staple in anime history.
