Star Wars fans have been divided since the announcement of Solo with many asking Why? and who wanted this? After the much divisive reception of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, many long time fans have rejected the idea of the movie. On top of that, the firing of original directions Phil Lord and Chris Miller with only weeks left to finish filming, the hiring of Ron Howard, the extensive reshoots that took place, and the possibility of the film not meeting its planned summer release date have made the production of Solo a drama filled mess.
FINALLY! After all the speculation and questioning of “Where is the Solo trailer!?” and “Will Solo get pushed back?!”. We get those questions answered and had our first glimpse of Solo: A Star Wars Story during Super Bowl 52 Sunday evening with a 30 second teaser. Oddly, we are then granted a full trailer a night’s sleep later on Good Morning America.
The film will be directed by Ron Howard & will release on May 25, 2018. Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich,Donald Glover,Emilia Clarke,Woody Harrelson,Thandie Newton,Phoebe Waller Bridge,Paul Bettany and Joonas Suatamo.
