The Powerpuff Girls & Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends Are Getting A Reboot

Some exciting news just released for fans of the Powerpuff Girls & Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. It looks like both animated shows will be getting rebooted.

Sam Register, president of Cartoon Network Studios, Warner Bros. Animation & Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, said the following: The Hanna-Barbera homecoming of Craig was an opportunity we could not pass up. Along with his unparalleled sense of fun and imagination, he’s bringing two of his greatest works in The Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, and we are so excited for these characters to be a part of the new legacy taking shape at the studio.”

This will be the second animated Powerpuff Girls reboot that will go into production. The Powerpuff Girls were supposed to get a live-action series that was set to air on the CW, but it was canceled not too long after production. The Powerpuff Girls reboot will still focus on Blossom, Buttercup & Bubbles, saving the day & going to school. However, the Forster’s Home of Imaginary Friends reboot will be taking a different route & will be targeting pre-schoolers with a new set of imaginary friends.

Sarah Fell, VP of original kids and family animation at Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, will be in charge of developing both projects. The London-based studio The Amazing World of Gumball will produce the two series, which will be distributed worldwide.
